Garden View
Lower Cot Mill’s gardens are exquisitely secluded and are approached either through the conservatory or through the wrought iron gates at the head of the garden path. A paved pathway winds down through the gardens, flanked by stone retaining walls and beds and boarders stocked with masses of ornamental and flowering trees, shrubs and plants including mimosa, palms, ferns, pittosporum, bamboo, acer, roses, fuchsias, buddleias and bay.
There are various charming sitting-out areas around the garden, a graveled terrace beside the conservatory and, beneath a rose covered timber arch or across a little bridge over a leat which runs through the garden, a large paved terrace with granite table at the end of the garden beside the bubbling stream – a blissfully peaceful spot.
The garden naturally attracts a wide variety of native birds and wildlife and can be enjoyed from either the sanctuary of the conservatory or indeed from many of the seating areas in the garden itself.
